How to Vote in The DuPage County Primary and General Elections:


Voting on Election Day(s):

The Primary Election will be held on Monday, March 17, 2020.

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. You can look up your election day polling place through this link.


Early Voting Options:

In-Person Early Voting:

For the March 17, 2020, General Primary Election (Election Division Office only):

  • First day - Thursday, February 6, 2020 (40th day prior to an election)

  • Last day - Monday, March 16, 2020 (1 day prior to an election)

For the March 17, 2020, General Primary Election (locations throughout DuPage County)

  • First day - Monday, March 2, 2020 (15th day prior to an election)

  • Last day - Saturday, March 14, 2020 for Temporary Sites (3 days prior to an election)

  • Last day - Monday, March 16, 2020 for Permanent Sites (1 day prior to an election)

The Early Voting program allows any eligible DuPage County voter to vote before Election Day. All locations are 100% compliant with the American with Disabilities Act.

Temporary Early Voting Locations in DuPage County:

  • Are available 15 days prior to (first day) and 3 days prior (last day) to an election.

  • Are open Monday through Saturday (no Sunday hours).

For the March 17, 2020 General Primary Election the official dates and hours for Temporary Locations are: 

  • Monday, March 2, 2020 through Friday March 6, 2020 – 8:30 AM until 7:30 PM

  • Saturday March 7, 2020 – 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM

  • Monday, March 9, 2020 through Friday March 13, 2020 – 8:30 AM until 7:30 PM

  • Saturday March 14, 2020 – 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Vote by mail:

Any eligible DuPage County registered voter may Vote by Mail beginning 40 days prior to an Election.  Please contact the DuPage County Clerk’s Office for verification of availability.

In order to vote by mail follow the below steps:

  • Obtain an official Vote by Mail Ballot Application by:

  • Downloading the Vote by Mail Application (PDF) from this website, picking one up from any DuPage County registration location, or Calling the Election Division to request an Application at (630) 407-5600, Spanish (630) 407-5608, TDD: (630) 407-5631

  • After receiving the Vote by Mail Ballot Application, complete and return it to the Election Division as soon as possible.

  • When available, your ballot will be mailed upon receipt of the completed application. 

The last day to mail a ballot to a voter is the Thursday (5 days) prior to the election.

Voted ballot must be postmarked no later than Election day in order to be counted.
